I am just watching this live on Fox. Praying for folks in that building! How awful.
Amazingly, so far they are only reporting one person unaccounted for, and a few people transported to local hospitals. Let's pray that no more people are injured. The entire area now is affected because power has been turned off to several surrounding blocks.
Sending prayers and hopes that all people got out!
Here is an E-mail I got from Janet Faulk regional director for Keller Williams Realty Carolinas Region.
Hello Leadership,
As many of you know there was a plane crash in Austin this morning. ALL OF OUR LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE ARE FINE. This is where the Austin market center was located until one week ago. They had finished moving on Saturday. Details are still sketchy and KWRI will be sending out a statement shortly. Again we are most grateful that our Keller Williams family is safe. Please pass this information on to your people quickly as it is now on CNN and has been referred to as the Keller Williams building.
Thanks for the update, The Keller Williams offices were previously located in the Echelon Building II which is next door to the Echelon I that was hit by the plane. There is a large Keller Williams sign on top of their building so I guess the CNN video crews were using that as their refererence to call it the Keller Williams Building. Thank heavens that the casualities were so limited in this disaster.
Mike... I was driving to my office in NW Austin this morning. I took the 183 exit from Mopac probably 5-10 minutes before it happened. I got an email from my friend with the live feed, and could not believe. I literally missed it by a few minutes. It's such an unfortunate event for the area, but luckily most people were relatively unharmed. I hope it stays that way.
Glad you weren't involved. I was on my way to my listing in Cat Mtn off Far Weat when I happened onto it. Just a lot of smoke, fire was already out. So far so good on casualties. It was a miracle dozens weren't killed.
We never know what is next or who might crack and do something like this. I am sure there must be people hurt that were in the building or just below the impact area.
How terrible! It is so freeky that the Keller Williams office had just moved. They are so lucky they weren't there today.
Mike, I didn't know that Keller Williams was nearby - completely missed that. What a blessing they had moved out.
